Banco Santander obtained an attributable profit of 1,608 million euros in the first quarter of 2021, compared to a result of 331 million in the same period of the previous year, in which a provision of 1,600 million euros was recorded due to the pandemic. In the first quarter of 2021, the entity recorded a net charge of 530 million euros corresponding to the restructuring costs expected for the year as a whole, mainly in the United Kingdom and Portugal.
